Notes concerning data protection

The protection of your personal data is a high priority for schnaitt. Consequently we treat your data as confidential and respect the private sphere of our visitors and clients. Should you use our services, it may become necessary to provide personal data. In this case we assure you, that we will process this information solely for the purpose of which it has been provided to us.
All employees, temporary staff, trainees and auxiliary staff are sworn to confidentiality and to compliance with the rulings of the Federal Data Protection Act and – eff. May 26, 2018 – the European data protection regulation – by the schnaitt Data Protection Officer when taking up their duties. Our employees also participate in regular training measures on IT security and data protection in order to further raise their awareness in this context.

 

I. Data processing
We automatically collect information in our server log files which is transmitted to us by your web browser. Information includes:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • IP address of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request

 

Such personal data are neither stored nor merged with other sources of data.

 

II. Cookies

“Session cookies” are used at several points on our sites. Cookies are small text files which are deposited on your computer and which are stored by your web browser. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. You can prevent the cookies from being installed by means of an appropriate setting in your browser software. Session cookies are deleted automatically following the end of your visit.

 

III. Web analysis

The web analytics service Google Analytics is used on this website. Here too, only information which is sent automatically by your web browser is stored. Evaluation is based on the anonymous IP address which means that it cannot be associated with your web browser. We use this information to evaluate the use of the website. If you do not agree to your IP address being stored, you can prevent the storage of your IP address by changing the settings of your browser (so-called “Opt out”).

 

IV. Forwarding of data to 3rd parties

It may be necessary to forward your data in the following cases. If so, this will be subject to strict confidentiality and legal requirements:

  • To external service providers for data processing: If service providers come into contact with personal data of our customers, this will be within the framework of so-called data processing by order. Please note that in such cases, schnaitt remains fully responsible for the protection of your data. The service provider works exclusively in accordance with our instructions; this is ensured through strict contractual rulings, technical and organisational measures as well as through supplementary controls.
  • On the basis of statutory obligations: In certain cases, we are obliged by law to forward data in response to enquiries by government bodies. We do not forward any data to third parties over and above this, unless we have received your explicit consent to this.

 

V. Your rights as affected person

You are entitled to request information concerning your personal data processed by us, its origin andrecipients, the purpose of storage a right for deletion and transfer to third parties. You can revoke your consent to the use of the personal data by us at any time. We draw your attention to the fact that, even in such cases, we remain entitled to process the personal data, if this is necessary for purposes related to fulfilment of a contract entered with you. The same applies if you have issued your consent to third parties concerning data processing, and we process your data on behalf of this third party in accordance with the agreement; additionally, if processing is prescribed by law or required by a court or authority.

VI. Your right to complain

If you are of the opinion that schnaitt has processed your personal data not in accordance with the principles laid out here or according to data protection law applicable in the European economic area (EWR), you may complain at any time with the competent data protection authority either of the State of North Rhine Westfalen or the European member State where you are resident.
