In June 2015, the G7 Summit took place at Schloss Elmau — a five-star hotel in the Wetterstein mountains. The challenge here was using the limited space on site as efficiently as possible. This required an exact interlocking of all trades in the tight schedule.
Due to the design requirements — the integration of the mobile architecture into the landscape — we created a continuing wall of wooden facades, which corresponded structurally with the entire complex of Schloss Elmau. In order to seamlessly integrate the look of the building into this landscape, a 2-story tent was constructed, which served as the media center. Next to this, we designed and executed the speaker podium and special buildings in the Schlosshotel Elmau. We took into account all specifications regarding topography, history and nature conservation.
